Fifteen years of photographing wildlife have <g class=\"gr_ gr_14 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"14\" data-gr-id=\"14\">me<\/g> turn around in a heartbeat. I know for a fact that a deer is not just going to stand in icy cold water for no reason at all. And even though I didn&#8217;t make out the wolf on the first pass, it was certainly there when I pressed the shutter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I walked back to the car to get my long lens, the wolf slipped away.
